is a map usefull?
(Tuesday 28th May 2002)

David Ness - who's comments on Instant Outlining initially got me started on the whole Google Browser thing - is questioning the usefullness of TouchGraph like visualisations of complex relations... (discussion on lcom)

Well, my thought in short: a map, a graph and a textual representation, are all just that: representations. No match for the real thing, which in itself might be incomprehensible. All are tools, and each has it's weaknesses and strenghts. Let's just not forget that there are always different ways to look at one thing.
