Hey
Alwin! Maybe I was picking the wrong examples there. Sorry. I didn't want to attack
your design, because the problem I mentioned lies with the basic design as it was roled out. But the current Manila-CSS theme has been updated since then and so dosn't seem to have that problem no longer...
Maybe now I should try and help you optimize your theme so that it at least displays in older browsers.
I just did a quick test here: I saved your page as a blank HTML localy. Then I removed ALL content of the <style> tag. And then it displays alright in NS4... So maybe a way to a solution could be to comment out all definitions and setp-by-step re-enable them to see which ones barf NS4.
But I do agree with you Alwin: that is a hell of work just to 'support' an antique browser. Not sure if you should go to that kind of trouble.
I'll offer you a deal: I see if your design can be made to show in legacy browsers like NS4 for you. Deal?
[update:] Wow, that was fast. It seems that NS4 dosn't like the
'float: left;'
in the
#wrapper
definition. If I comment that one thing out, NS4 at least displays the page, but the calendar etc. go to the bottom of page as is to be expected. But IE5 still displays the page exactly as before!!!
