This idea is so astounding. A little glider that actually 'surfs' on the updraft your body produces while walking forward... What I find most surprising about it is this: it was invented more than 30 years ago, by a 12 year old boy! Not the boy part amazes me most, but the fact that here is something I have been dreaming of ever since I started building model aircraft (what, 20 years ago? Am I that old?) and it was already there all the time! Only the internet finally made it possible for me to stumble upon it.
Here's a descriptive image of how it works for a commercial product based on the concept, the 'WInd Rider'
And here's the wow wee AirSurfer page with super training videos to give you a better idea of wht it's about.
Build one yourself? No problem! Start on this page on the Z-Surfer made from 'Zepron' a super light foam
But you can actually also buy one: Wind Rider
But there's more: Stick-and-Tissue Walkalong Gliders
