Why I love to controll my own workspace
(Wednesday 23rd June 2004)

I'm not good at working in the same room with others. At least that's what I appear to be bad at. At leat when I need to do things I don't want to do.

Other people have other wishes/desires/needs in music, lighting, movement (telephone, constant chatter, moving around).

Having other people in the same room can be very distracting...

But what's absolutly anyoing are people who have one of these desktop-replacement laptops that won't last 10min on battery. Esp. when they stop working and leave the room, and those lapburners start putting up some CPU intense screensaver... meaning they produce more heat as when they are actually used.. and the the killer-fan thingie kicks in to vent all that useless heat! What's more useless than a 3ghz CPU showing some silly flash-movie when there's noone around to see it?? And that on a laptop!!! Arrgh! SILENCE!
