iPal is a digital artist's toolkit. It's a hardware device that lets the user draw directly onto an image, on a thin video screen. By combining a fine grain touch sensitive membrane and a high pixel density screen, it would have the feel of paper, with the image clarity present on existing Apple laptops.
This would let you sketch things directly onto the screen, instantly seeing the results as you draw, manipulating the digital canvas in much the same way you would work with paper or canvas. You'd have your choice of millions of digital colors, and a standard set of photoshop-like tools would be at your disposal, in an on-screen palette. Text entry would be done via an on-screen keyboard when it's done at all. This would not be a tool for data entry however, it would be a tool for digital art, taking notes, and viewing images.
