is a command line utility for converting perl scripts to executable files.
This allows you to create stand alone programs in perl that do not require the perl interpreter. You can also ship the executable file without having to ship your perl source code.
Perl2Exe can generate executables for Win32 and Unix target hosts. (and MacOS too)
's been around some time, but I never came to find it as my interest in Perl was waning for exactly the reason Perl2Exe solves, distribution of single-file Executeables...
MicroWeb
allows you to create a working web site on a CD-ROM. Using a web browser, a user can run CGI programs as well as view html files on the CD-ROM.
To view the website the end user only has to run the microweb.exe program on the CD-ROM, there is nothing to configure. This will automatically start a web browser for viewing the website.
MicroWeb provides support for MySQL, it will automatically start a MySQL server if one is included on the CD.AmphetaDesk

it's wtitten in Perl and made into one singlefile executable with Perl2Exe, which for Windows download in about 2MB, which I think is rather small, no?
