tonight I started using my TiBook for some serious writting / exploring. Trying to find how much I can do with it and where (couch?), and also for how long (battery life?).
In the same process I started exploring
Tinderbox, which was one of the main reasons I originally wanted a Mac.
Suffice to say, after some start problems (the typical lower contrast of Mac screens, small fonts on a not too big screen etc.) I am beginning to really love the experience. It's nice and quiet for a start, although not as quiet as
I had hoped ;)
If I switch to white-on-black display, readability improves vastly. (I need to figure out the keystrokes to switch fast,
as OS X also inverts displayed images etc. That is actually rather cool, but sometimes I do prefer to see it the right way ;) )
Also having the system read out aloud what you have written (in a pleasant voice!) is really a usefull experience.
What I'd really love though is an easy way to have the system read directly from Tinderbox. For some reason that doesn't work (maybe due to the fact that I'm using it on a German system?)
Welcome
Eastgate News readers! Just a short note to clarify my ramblings about 'readability' above. My vision is not very good, and I use computers very much to compensate for that problem. Naturally OS X's features in that respect are of great importance to me.
