(Thursday 18th April 2002)

By the way, this is not so very breaking news as everybody reports. This service has been around for some time. The thing is that aonly now amazon is talking about it, it seems.

My personal and initial "excitement" about finally re-finding these services has bruned down considrably. The data simply dosn't contain the info I'd like to have, and above all it's -com only. I'm on the other side so I only care for amazon.de data, which isn't supplied in XML form (yet?). Back to parsing raw HTML then, I guess.

SalesRankNPrice Web Service
This Web Service can be used to get the Sales Rank and/or price for any book available on Amazon and/or B&N Web sites.
This WebService uses HTML-scraping to gleam it's data... now if somebody points me to the gory details of how it was done... (Go MAD for ASP.NET with Graymad! Screen Scraping with ASP.NET - this seems to be the underlying code)
Bing! Web Farming Newsletter - with Visual Basic
