- wtf is dfc?
Well if james blogs again, I imagine I should follow suit. I dropped off the radar for quite some time now and a lot has happened in the land of dfc. The madness began when I moved out of our house on Clarendon and moved back in with my mom. I spent most of the summer at my new office, aka starbucks. After a long and grueling summer I thought I found a job at the FAA and a nice apartment in Reston, VA the home of djn. I never received an official job offer but I was given a tentative start date. This date was pushed back two weeks. Then it was pushed back two more weeks. Then it was pushed back two more weeks. The FAA people that I interacted with were outstanding but the FAA seems to have serious HR issues. The final two week push back was going to cost me a thousand dollars. After a lot of deliberation I rescinded my statement of intent to work at the FAA. Grando, Plato, Freedom and I have now moved back in together and the family is alive and well in the westcott nation. I am still unemployed, and looking for work. If you know of any positions for dfc please pass along my resume…

- Scent of a Woman
I picked up my new vanity fair today and the lack of women in my life became readily apparent. There is one of those fragrance things for Armani Mania and I realized how much I miss the smell of perfume…
“Ooh but I still smell her. Women. What could you say? Who made ‘em? God must’ve been a fucking genius. Hair. The hair… They say the hair is everything. Have you ever buried your nose in a mountain of curls and just wanted to go to sleep forever? Or lips. And when they touched yours were like that first swallow of wine after you just crossed the desert.”
For some reason quoting Kilgore seemed appropriate at first but it was a little to cras…

- PET 2004
The opening lecture for PET 2004”:http://www.petworkshop.org is a talk by ross Anderson on the economics of security. Right now the level of economics is rather low. The rest of the conference will most likely be harder for me to understand…
BTW
America Jr. is nice, it seems the anti-smoking rage has crossed the ontario. I have not seen an ashtray in front of any entrances.UPDATE:
I swapped sigs with Peter Palfrader and Matthias Bauer. We all smiled…- dc

Some notes:
re: autodiscovery... some of the blo.gs entries actually already have the rss link included... and I'm currently thinking about using a AmpetaDesk like bookmarklet to add geeds to my list
re: sorting of feeds:
The reader itself 'remembers' the feeds I've viewed and ranks them after the last time I accessed/viewed them. It's a very simple form of interst filtering. Feeds I don't view go down, the ones I'm really interested in go up.
